SANTANA RANCH
Guerrero, Tamaulipas

2,272 +/- Acres   |   $2,000,000

Brochure

To say we were impressed when we visited Santana is an understatement! The Perez family have done a superb job in creating and managing one of the best whitetail ranches south of the border... The property is truly jaw dropping. With tons of water (ponds, lakes, troughs), great infrastructure and most importantly a magnificent deer herd that has been managed for 15 years, this is the definition of a turn-key ranch.

LOCATION

Santana Ranch is located just 1 hour south of Laredo, TX and roughly 1.5 hours from the city of Monterrey, NL - The entrance to the county road is on highway 85, and from there, it only takes 10 minutes on a well maintained dirt road to get to the ranch.

PROPERTY

The property is completely high fenced around the perimeter. The brush at Santana is perfect for growing monster whitetails. It has a lot of variety throughout the property. The northern side is rockier, with open areas and lower brush like guajillo, sage and cactus... Then on the mid to southern part of the ranch, the brush gets a lot taller and thicker, with mesquite trees, black brush, granjeno, kidney wood, cactus, etc... It also has some beautiful patches with oak trees and water. The family has been feeding cotton seed year round for a long time. There is a well maintained caliche road from the entrance of the ranch to the main house. There has never been cattle on the ranch.

The main house and cowboy's house are equipped with solar panels for water, power and ac/heat. There is a warehouse and a 30KVA diesel generator. There is also a 200 yard shooting range. Roads system is very well maintained.

HUNTING

There have been several 200" whitetails taken at Santana in past years, and many others in the 160" to 190" range... Thanks to proper management and low hunting pressure, this ranch has a very healthy deer herd... Santana has 13 stands, 17 feed stations and 12 corn feeders all placed in strategic areas for hunting. You will also find hogs, javelina, coyotes, bobcats, etc... As well as ducks, dove and quail!

WATER

Rancho Santana has 9 lakes/ponds that all have water throughout the year. Its location is quite fortunate, because when it rains, water flows very well throughout the ranch, easily filling up its water reservoirs. There are also 16 water stations strategically distributed for wildlife, which receive water from a big tank with a solar pump. The pump distributes the water via a 1.5" pipe that runs for 4.5 miles.
